ABOUT US
Seeds of Hope (SOH) Uganda is a community-based organization established in 2017 following increased teenage pregnancies, HIV transmission, and impoverishment in the Masaka and Ssembabule Districts. We value equity, faith, accountability, and authenticity in work. Our program principles are founded in a community-centric approach that promotes partnerships, continuous learning, capacity building, and empowerment activity.
Seeds of Hope works to build community resilience to address development challenges in the Masaka district. Within the district, there are many vulnerable women, youth, and children who live in extremely impoverished households. These households require access and support to acquire basic needs such as food, proper housing, healthcare, and other social services.
Uganda's current social-economic situation has left many households and communities in need of financial assistance to acquire basic services needed for survival. Our core programs aim to address this reality by providing support through projects based on the following: food and water security, livelihood and economic development, women and girls empowerment, health and hygiene, education and youth outreach, research, and public consultation.
Since our organization's establishment, SOH has supported over 200 women and children in food security, advocacy for clean water, malaria prevention, HIV/AIDS prevention, education, and vocational projects. Our health and education programs have reached more than 7500 children in schools. We currently conduct work in the two districts of Masaka and Ssembabule consisting of seven sub-counties; Buwunga, Bukakata, Nyendo-Ssenyang, Kimanya-Kayabakuza, and Mateete.
